I Got a Compliment

At Kid #2's swimming lessons tonight, I tried to pretend I was Supermom. Well, I tried.

I came prepared. I had a cute, funny board book, a coloring book with a brand new box of crayons, and some random toys. I took my time pulling them out to maximize the amount of time the little kids were entertained.

Then the compliment came.

The dad of another swimmer came up to me and said "Wow, you're so organized! You have great ideas to keep the kids entertained." My jaw dropped, literally. Yes, not even figuratively. I then stammered something that probably made me sound like a bitch, but I'm not used to getting complimented on anything anymore so I think that part of my brain has just shut off for good. I managed to crack a smile at the end and then glanced over at Kid #4 who had just thrown a handful of crayons to the pool.

Oh well.

  1. I'm afraid to leave the house with 1 and you do it with 4!

    I am in awe.... :)

    Do crayons float?

  2. I was going to ask the same thing - do they float? I'm guessing they do.

  3. Yes, at least for a few seconds they do. The teacher was on the ball. At least someone was...
