Spring Play

Mr. Busy's spring play "The Music Man" is this weekend. I went last night to the premier and watched in awe as the kindergarten through 8th grade kids put on a fabulous show. I wish I had pictures to share, but the whole dog-ate-through-the-USB-cord is really getting in the way. However, I did order one online and it should be here in 2-6 more business days. Keep your fingers crossed!

The other downside to last night's play was the audience. Most of the parents and grandparents acted like normal human beings and I appreciate that. I really do. It's the weird ones or the ones with no common sense that irked me.

First, we have the guy sitting two rows behind me with the two little girls (probably 3 and 4 years old). Now, the play starts at 7 p.m. and goes for two hours so you know that kids are usually cranky and bed-bound by this time. Bella, the 3 year old, bounced around happily before the play and I thought "Good, get it out now so you can sit and chill out a bit later." Wrong. She ran up and down the bleachers during the entire play. They aren't quiet bleachers either so it was BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG, BANG up and the same back down. Several times she almost went up on stage before someone caught her. Her mom was busy talking to a friend in front row so she didn't even notice what was going on. I wanted to punch the dad in the face. Next time buddy, GET A SITTER! Or even better, since they put on four shows over the course of 2 days, how about you guys alternate and leave the little ones at home. That's what we do and I assure you, it's fabulous.

There were a couple more unruly kids by 8 p.m., but at least their parents had the sense to take them out to the hallway so they didn't disrupt the play. Kudos to you all.

There was also a weirdo couple in front of me that was very touchy-feely. They were more affectionate than Josh and Anna Duggar during their engagement. The part that really grossed me out was that it was a mom and son couple, not a dating or married couple. Yes, a MOM and her PRETEEN SON. They had their arms around each other and their heads on each others shoulders. He kissed the side of her face and she kissed his. She played with his hair. FUCK. Just typing this out makes me feel like a pedophile. Believe me, it was far worse watching it in person. I wanted to puke. I am all for affection, but sweet Lord have a limit!
